Don Argott, guitarist and songwriter, has produced and recorded two LP's under the name “Pornosonic”, entitled “Unreleased ‘70's Porno Music” and “Cream Streets”. Both LP's are available through Valley Entertainment, Inc. Pornosonic's song “Laying Pipe” was sampled by Australian hip hop recording artists “Hilltop Hoods” for inclusion in their lead single “Clown Prince” from the recent #1 selling “Hard Road” LP, released on Obese Records. The gold certification, issued by ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association) is Argott's first. Music from Pornosonic has previously been licensed for use in the films “Porn Star – The Ron Jeremy Story”, “The Girl Next Door” and “Old School”, as well as the television programs “The Chris Issak Show”, “Eve”, “Rather Good Videos”, “MTV Spring Break”, and many others.
In addition to moonlighting as a guitarist and songwriter, Don Argott's “day job” is a filmmaker. Argott's company “9.14 Pictures” produced and directed the highly successful documentary “Rock School”, which debuted at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival. Shortly thereafter, distribution rights were obtained by New Market Films and A&E. After successful theatrical and television runs, Rock School is now available on home video. 9.14 Pictures also creates electronic press kits and concert videos for various major label recording artists, such as Chevelle, Soul Asylum and Jeffrey Gaines. 9.14's latest project is “Two Days in April”, a documentary funded by Netflix, which follows four college football prospects as they train and prepare for the NFL draft.
